For John O’Keefe, Chicago cop, that route comes through his beloved and incredible wife, erotic author Cassandra Houston O’Keefe. But income tax preparation is hardly the only headache that faces a Chicago policeman; and on this year’s tax deadline, John enters a situation fraught with danger which tests his life and Cass’ love and patience. A lovely and innocent young girl’s attempted rapist becomes an attempted murderer, and John’s brothers jump into the situation with an eye to justice, not mercy. Cass ensures her involvement as well, for where her husband is concerned, no stone can be left unturned. Many Happy Returns delves deeper into the psyche of Cassandra, John, and “Irish twin”, brother Matthew, and takes a close hard look at law and justice {not always the same entity}. Author Crystal Ordonez outdoes herself in this short tale, reaching previously unplumbed depths of character. The action is non-stop and riveting, and the sensual erotic threads which are Ms. Ordonez’s trademark leave the reader in dire need of a long ice bath.
